About Jubilo

Jubilo is an adult, mixed-voice choir with over 80 members, based in Edinburgh with members coming from as far afield as East Lothian, West Lothian and Fife as well as from the Edinburgh area.

The choir performs a wide variety of music of different periods and styles, sacred and secular, from major choral works to a cappella pieces, carols and lighter music.

The Jubilo Society is a registered SCIO - Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation SC006981 and, as such, submits Annual Accounts to OSCR, the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator. Each year the choir supports a chosen charity with carol singing, collections at concerts and singing at charity events. The choir is also a member of Making Music.

Organisation

The choir is run by an elected committee of members which is responsible for all administrative and financial aspects of the choir's operation. Committee Members are also Trustees of the SCIO. Many other choir members are involved in helping make sure rehearsals, concerts and social events run smoothly. The choir’s Musical Director has the final say on all musical content, rehearsal and presentation.

Funding

Jubilo is entirely self-funding. Choir members pay an annual subscription and are also committed to purchasing a number of tickets for the two main concerts of the year.

Music

All music is provided free of charge. The choir owns a large library of choral music and borrows or hires other pieces as required.
